What makes this camp different?

We have not been to everyone else’s camps and don’t like to compare.  We believe you will find this camp very well organized and customized.  The training will be designed for high level players to get a college-like practice/training experience.  Additionally, we are making an extra effort to help each player leave with a feel for what to expect in the recruiting process, how to best manage it, and how to also be a great teammate and team member when they arrive at a college.

How do I know if this camp is the right level for me?

We are required to have the camp open to all levels of golfers so we can’t turn anyone away for golf playing skill.  The training, coaching, and competitions will be designed with a low single digit handicap junior golfer in mind, so someone with less skill or experience may feel uncomfortable, but they will be welcome regardless.

Will I get to connect with any college golf student-athletes?

Yes.

We have plans to include student-athletes in the camp as a special part of the final day.

Will I be able to talk to the coaches about their schools at the camp?

No. You will be able to talk a lot with the coaches about college golf and recruiting.  You will really get to know the coaches.  However, the NCAA rules are strict on this and when all the talk, the coaches will take extra caution to not talk specifically about their school or give any suggestion of future scholarship or roster offers.  Assuming the ages meet NCAA requirements, those conversations can only happen after the camp is over.

Will you be addressing the academic and eligibility side of college admissions and eligibility?

Yes.  We’ve been very surprised about how little information is out there for people going through this process and we plan to make sure all students and parents understand everything they need to know about academic and eligibility requirements.  This will save everyone a lot of frustration in the future.

I already have a swing coach, should I still come?

We don’t want to get in the way of your relationship with your swing coach in any way.  This is a different type of experience.  We will do some swing instruction and training of all golf skills, but we won’t overhaul your swings.  This is a college-preparation camp, run by college coaches, that will help you really understand where you are and what you need to do after the camp to both get into college, and to be a great college golfer and teammate when you get there.

How much can parents be involved in the camp?

Parents are encouraged to participate in the opening gathering of the camp, the barbecue and night activity on the first night, and the final tournament and workshop.  The rest of the time, the parents will need to find somewhere else to be.  We want to have lots of parent time as listed above, but also have the students just be on their own, with the other students.  After all, this is preparation for college.
